Batman 14" TV DVD Combi

Hi,

Anyone know anything about these sets from Woolworths. It designed to look like Batmans head!! I'm trying to repair one and can't find any tech info. Fault is unlocked colour, changed the STV2247H and both crystals. Suspecting an EEPROM fault. Does anyone know chassis type, or service codes, or even seen thois fault before? No response from Wollies customer service.

It's not the usual Vestel types that you see. There are no markings whatsoever. The TV is imported from a firm called Kidscape International in Tiawan by Woolies. Their website is of no use.
The main chip is the STV2247H. This does pretty much everything from IF in to RGB out to the cathode amps, including line & frame drive, sound, OSD etc. I've got the datasheet for it, and the circuitry around the chip is pretty much copied from the data sheetThere is an unknown micro and associated EEPROM. Fault is same with SCART input so must be post IF stage. STV2247 runs very warm, and the pictures gets darker over about 15 minutes, freezing the chip restores the brightness, (but not the colour). All supply lines are at normal levels.
I've tried swapping the STV and both the crystals, interestingly swopping the crystals kills the colour completely, although they look like normal 4.43 and 3.58 crystals to me.

I would tend to agree that your problem is likely to be down to the eeprom. There is the other problem that i tend to overlook at times -think simple- is there a menu that selects the system !!

Tried the NTSC/PAL settings. Its the same fault if you feed it an NTSC signal. Only time its OK is if you feed it RGB.
