Smile Phillips Lo1-1e chassie. intermittantly drops into standby

As the title says...
I have a Phillips 32PW 6517/05 L01-1E
that periodically drops into standby mode, and will happily re-start from it after a very short while...
i originally suspected a temperamental Lopt..but after putting one in off the shelf, i still have the same issues...
a few clues on where to look would be gratefully recieved.
Thanks, Rob.

Re: Phillips Lo1-1e chassie. intermittantly drops into standby

I had a problem with this chassis some time ago doing something similar and found replacing the field output chip cured this.I am not sure but thought that the protection circuit seemed a bit sensitive on this chassis.Worth a try.

C2455 47uF 50v if you're lucky.

Tube if you're unlucky.

Other possibilities too of course.

Have you had a look at the error codes. Error 11 is normally bad news and usually indicates tube problems, which is very common on the 32" versions. The dodgy capacitor mentioned by others is also quite common, but cheap to fix.

If it's looking like a tube issue, try and find a TV repair shop, (Are there any left?) with a tube rejuvinator/tester. They might be able to remove the problem in the tube. I've had success on both occasions I've tried this, with my very scary home built tube rejuvinator. Don't tell the H & S boys. Both sets bought off Ebay for next to nothing, and now living in mine and my brothers houses.
