JVC 32L5GY Vs Panny 32PH40

I hava a Sony 32FX66 which I am thinking of sending back due to buzzing (its my second one)

Anyway I am looking at either the JVC 32L5 or the Panny 32PH40.

Can anyone recommend or put me off either.

I mostly watch Sky, DVDs Football.

Another option is the JVC 32X25

Also if anyone knows anyone doing good deals on the above.

I will use JL and get a price match.

i have the 32x25 now and am currently deciding what to exchange it for.

it has a good stable picture but its processing is just to annoying for fast action.

It has the digipure circuit which takes away motion blur but introduces digital artifacts

I have not seen the 32l5 in the flesh you talk of but i would assume this model has similar problems ie same processing circuit

However i notice jvc say this model has SUPER digipure

From what I read it seems no one is happy with any 32" 100Hz set. I think I will buy a 14" B&W portable with coat hanger aereal

The problem with the Ph40 I have read many people complain about colour bleed, Smearing and leave trails behind. And I have seen it in shop with football on. Oh man it was awfull when the players runs it leaves a trail behind them.

Indeed, the blurring is unacceptable, but also, and this was especially noticeable on the Cricket recently, the players have massive outlines which aren't consistent i.e. they blur and shift around.

Looks like its back to the drawing board.

I like the look of the Sony but it buzzes.

I like the look of the Panny, but the picture sucks (apparently)

Anyone recommend anything else for around a grand (1100 max).

Can anyone comment on the JVC?

I honestly not heard a sony buzz yet. I have had 4 sony and none of them have buzz just had some picture problems ie white clouds and slope. But the 4th one is staying here which is a FQ80 as it spot on

My mate got a FQ80 and another mate got a LS60 Both of them dont buzz and they live on the same road as me.

It is strange. The buzzing I have is Scan coil related as opposed to PSU buzzing as the frequency changes depending upon what is on the screen. Sometimes it barley audible, others it is very noticeable.

I have spoken to Sony and they have said that some people notice it and some dont and it is dependent upon the environment and the individuals hearing frequency range.

To be honest my Wife barely notices it, but me and some friends find it annoying. (I know I have sensitive hearing as I howl everytime someone uses a dog whistle ).

I like the Sony but........

I am now getting kicked off as I dont know what to do. I spent ages deciding to go for the Sony over a Philips 9527. In the end it was all the comments on this forum about the Philips P+ picture that made me go for Sony.

I am now back to square 1. I have thought about getting a refund and waiting for the 32FX68. But I have read that it will retail at between 799 and 899. Compare that to the retail price of the 66 which is around 1100 (in know it can be bought cheaper). I cant see the quality of the 68 being as good as the 66 when you look at the price difference.

Just dont know what to do now. A friend has told me to go for a 50Hz. He has just sent a Philips 100Hz back and got a Panny 50Hz and is well happy.

I'd say he is a wise friend. If you are sensitive to 100Hz side effects, it is unlikely that you will be happy with any current 100Hz set. 100Hz sets fix a "problem" (flicker) that does not bother most people anyway but, in doing so, they introduce several other problems that annoy many people even more (motion blur, pixelisation, image lag, etc.).

Thanks. I am not sensitive to 100Hz problems. I like the picture on the Sony FX66. Its the buzzing that is a problem. I am trying to get feedback to see if the picture quality on the panny or jvc is to a similar level to the Sony. I find it hard to tell in the shop.
