PC TV Tuners - any good?

I'm thinking about getting a TV Tuner card for my PC due to lack of room for another TV.

Are they any good?

Win tv PCi versions have not given me any problems what so ever, you can pick up a win tv go for around 20 pounds, the only thing lacking is nicam stereo. I even have 1 of these cards in a spare work machine PII 266 MHz with built in 4mb graphics card and no problems. This even picks up teletext and reception is better than a portable someone bought in and put side by side

My PC is roughly the same spec so will give it a try. I spotted a TV Tuner card in PC World for 25 quid with no frills packaging.

Is there a built in aerial or is it just an RF socket?

No built in antenna, normal RF socket, most have a video in as well for limited analogue video editing. Definately worth the price. I have only ever had one faulty one, the problem with it was that the tuner was not sensitive enough. I was lucky as I may have accepted it as the norm but had fitted many of them in the past so new what to expect

If you have Digital Terrestrial reception in your are go for DigiTV.

There is no analogue PC TV card that can produce the picture quality to equal DigiTV.

Highly recommended.
