Agreed, there's no way that any Scart cable would fix the excessive digital processing on the PH40; it's a feature of the set.
Quite a few people have experienced a lack of quality, the problems on my set manifested themselves in the form of extreme blurring and blocking, woeful handling of text and unforgivable colour bleeding despite my high quality cables.
Admittedly the static picture (especially with DVDs) was superb, but videos and Sky were sometimes unwatchable, especially in the case of sport.
I may have just got a duffer, but the whole episode has me wary of modern televisions in general (my old 28" Hitachi seems utopian now

), especially 100Hz models.
