Tosh 42WH18B DVD volume limited ! why ??

Hi, hope someone can help, i'm no good at the tech stuff. I have the above TV, when i play DVDs on it the sound is very quiet and i can't figure out what to do , i turn the TV volume up to 80 odd but that shouldn't be right ! It works fine for gamecube, tv and video it's just dvd. I've tried two different dvd players (wharfdale and tosh) and I still suffer this audio volume limit. Is there an internal setting on the TV that prevents it being at a reasonable volume ?? if so how do i alter this ?!?!!
many thanks
Daniel

Some DVD players have an audio out volume setting.

Some TVs have an audio input level setting for each SCART socket.

Check for either of them.

Also (depending on how the audio is getting to the TV) try changing the settings in the DVD player for bitstream or PCM 2 channel downconversion.
