sony tv probs

I have a 6.5 year old sony 32" widescreen tv and just lately have noticed the picture isn't as sharp and there seems a slight tinge to this, a good example of this is the sky banners that seem a lighter blue than normal, things today seem worse as the set takes a long time to warm up with sound comming and then about 20 seconds later picture. Also sometimes the red standby light will blink on/off both when watching tv and when trying to switch the set on. Sorry if this sounds muddled.
Just wanted to know if anyone else has experienced anything like this and what it means, i feel the tube might be on it's way out but was expecting a longer life from sony - if it means a new tv then i'll have to muddle through untill later on in the new year

Ps these problams are from every source, anolugue tv. RGB input for sky, DVD, PS2 (through a scart switcher ) and also the other scart input for the video

Thanks for any help
