Which Loewe

Hi,

I've narrowed down my search for a new CRT to a Loewe which seem to have good reviews. I've had a look round but would be interested to know if anyone has any recommendations for a particular model - from what I see its one of Aconda, Aventos or Xelos.

One thing I have seen is the information on the "engineering check" which is required on models from 2001.

As ever thanks for the help

Re: Which Loewe

I used to have a Vitros 32" and the picture was the best and is still the best picture I have seen on any TV.
Build quality was second to none too.

It has the same chassis (Q2500) as the Aconda and as far as I am aware the only difference was the cabinet - the Vitros was a more modern looking set.

If I was going back to CRT - LOEWE is the only direction for me.

As it is I've got their Spheros LCD and am looking at moving to the Individual compose 40 which has just had a price drop and is coming out in 100hz guise.

- I answer to your question of those you have listed I'd go Aconda - no question.

Hope this helps you.

Re: Which Loewe

I own the Articos (see attached pic) which I have now had for 3 years. I did quite a lot of research before purchasing and came to the conclusion that this was the best CRT money can buy.

In the last 3 years I have not been disappointed. The picture quality via DVD (Pioneer DV-656A) is excellent and also extremely good via Sky.

I don't know how easy it is to buy Loewe CRT's now but I could certainly recommend this one.

Re: Which Loewe

i have an aconda as a second tv and to be honest, its probably the best picture in the house (apart from hd)

the fact that this tv is fed from the rf out of my multiroom says it all..

rf out to the aconda is better than sd channels to my bravia

Re: Which Loewe

I understood that Loewe ceased to manufacture CRT TVs in 2004.
Several used models are listed on e bay.
