Toshiba 36ZP48 on the fritz?

As you look a the screen the right hand side has a lighter bar running vertically right at the edge (almost like reflection from inside when a CRT is too overscanned), the top and bottom right hand corners are also falling inwards to the centre by about a centimetre (worst case) depending on the screens displayed image brightness level (the lighter the image the worse the problem).

We've had a test pattern on the screen (from digital essentials) and set up the set for a '2.5% overscan' using a black and white version of the 'indian head' test pattern (the black and white one with a large centre circle surrounded by 4 smaller ones in each corner and a grid pattern), on this pattern the right hand corner circles are very badly distorted (squashed in from the right) and nothing you can do in the geometry settings will fix it.

Any ideas?

You'll never get perfect geometry on a 36" crt, afraid you'll just have to live with it.

errrrrr no I won't, it has deteriorated in the last week or so meaning something is failing.

This set from being new has been the target for digital essentials calibration and has been 'recalibrated' and checked for convergence / alignment and position from time to time, the convergence has always been slightly off towards the corners and yes I accepted that and lived with it but the geometry has on the whole been pretty good.

It is partly because of all this 'history' that I know for sure something is not right, that and the curve to the right hand side of the picture, that and the fact it is becoming worse daily.

You didn't make that clear in your post unless the "on the fritz?" part of your title is your way of describing a fault...an expression I've never heard in all my years of servicing.
Does the "falling inwards" from the side lessen if you reduce the contrast?

I have to say yes to the does it change on contrast, the brighter the screen image is the more the corners collapse.
