Toshiba 36ZP48 sound advice please...

Hi all...

Got a problem that I can't figure out and hoping one of the many on here that has/has had this TV can help.

Basically if I play a music CD via the DVD player or a tv programme/film that's been burnt to a DVD as a DIVX file etc then the sound playback through the TV is so low it's impossible to hear anything properly... even at the max 100 volume it's still no good!

The DVD player is a Pioneer DV-575A if that's of any relevance.

I really have no idea what's causing this and have played around with the settings but no luck. Hoping it's just something simple that I'm missing here! Could it be something to do with the included surround speakers? Though I'd doubt it.

Thanks in advance!!

Dan.

Re: Toshiba 36ZP48 sound advice please...

First check:
Only TV
1. TV normal or surround?
If normal check L and R sound. High or Low?If low let me know
If s/sound do not connect any AV inputs just check through speakers and aerial input.
High or Low?If low Let me Know

Then check:
Only DVD Player
2. DVD Player DV-575A normal or surround?
If Built in s/sound check Not connected to TV only speakers Now Play NOTE: ORIGINAL CD and DVD check sound.
High or Low? If low Let me Know

3. Now check both connected together through Scart/ phono

4. If all OK good sound go below if No Re- check cables to inputs and outputs or one of the above is faulty also check menu settings for sound modes.

5. Go to PC section of the Forum.
