Panasonic TX-32DT2 DVB tuning problem

Hi all, after my Philips 32" CRT went pop I was dismayed to see a total lack of CRTs available, & didn't want to go for an LCD or Plasma.
So I got myself an ex-rental/graded Panny TX-32DT2. All is fine with it apart from a problem getting all the Digital channels stored in it. I start the auto-setup, which gets the analogue channels OK, it then goes to the digital tuning, but is missing a couple of MUXes when it's done. This isn't an aerial problem as I've had a seperate Freeview box for years. Tried the aerial straight into the telly & through the box with the same result.
My father in law has a newer Panny model which has a seperate menu for DVB tuning, my model seems to want to do it all in one go with the analogue. Is it possible to update the software via the serial port at all?

Thanks

CD

Re: Panasonic TX-32DT2 DVB tuning problem

You state "Tried the aerial straight into the telly & through the box with the same result".
Do you have ANYTHING else connected in the aerial path between the actual aerial and the Freeview receiver?
Are your aerial connections made off well, no hidden shorts in the plug etc, braid to centre core?
As for an update to your TV I would doubt it very much as Panasonic like many others have dumped to the point of denying CRT ever existed.

Absolutely not, I've gone to great lengths to get a decent aerial setup, I have an Antiference aerial with Balun, double copper screened PF100 coax unbroken to a shielded outlet in the wall.

I thought as much, I just wondered if there were any homebrew solutions available. I have a Digifusion Freeview PVR, which has a whole host of hacked firmware available.

As for the Autosetup, after it has done the analogue tuning it then goes to the DVB, but the progress marker is well along from channel 21 when it comes on?? Although my missing MUXes are 2 & B, which are on channels 63 & 67 on my TX (Nottingham). The signal strength is fine on the PVR, so I can't understand why it doesn't get them.
