Question Which JVC Surround speakers ?

What options do I have for surround speakers to add to my AV-28WFR1EK ? I have had a look around various sites and discovered the SP-X100 set of five , do I need this or is there another option.

Also what are there options for adding a digital card to receive the free digi channels ?

Thanks for any help.

Your TV only has 2 x surround speaker terminals, so you only need 2 x surround speakers (15W each). From this you will only get Dolby Pro Logic / Dolby Surround, with your added speakers providing rear surround (your TV has 3 speakers built in already).

If you want Dolby Digital 5.1, then you need an AV amp/receiver plus 5 speakers and a sub (your TV cannot process 5.1 as it is).

You can't add a digital card to your TV for digital terrestrial, but you can buy a DTTV free-to-view box (e.g. Pace DTVA) relatively cheaply and plug it into one of the scarts.

Other members will be able to offer advice there Andy as I don't use an amp myself, just the virtual surround on my TV, so cannot speak from much experience.

Your best bet would be to start with a search of relevant posts on the forum as many other members have been in the same predicament as yourself so there should be lots of threads and posts offering recommendations.

Also, if you search for a particular amp that you are thinking of buying, you will almost always find lots of advice about it here.

If, after searching, you cannot find the info you're after, then your best bet is to start a new thread in the appropriate part of the forum
