Sony KV-21LS30 Auto Widescreen

Is there any way to stop the TV from automatically switching the display to 16:9 from anything connected to the RGB scart?

For instance when I switch on my Playstation 2 the picture is squashed (16:9) despite the game nbeing played being 4:3.

Thanks.

Pin 8 carries the widescreen switching signal.
Take a look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SCART
Try cutting the cable connection to pin 8 of the scart lead or it is sometimes easier to push in the pin to the body of the plug with a pair of narrow-ended pliers.

Re: Sony KV-21LS30 Auto Widescreen

Would it be safe and ok to just cover the pin with a thin piece of selotape?

Also, is there any method to buff out a deep-ish scratch on the silver plastic surround of the TV?

I think you may have problems getting the plug in the socket if you try to insulate it as the pins are a tight fit, best just to push the pin in.
Sorry, can't help re the scratch.
