Philips 28PW9309 and Nokia 211T - Poor quality picture. Settings required.

Hi all, I have searched but not found an answer to my question relating to the PW9309.

I have a Philips 28PW9309 connected to a Nokia 211T Freeview box, but the picture quality isn't great. Infact it's pixelated and pretty shabby when compared to the 50Hz Philips telly we just replaced. This picture is just as bad when watching movies as it is watching the news and football. Infact football is really bad.

I realise that I need to adjust the settings and hopefully someone will be able to point me in the right direction so I can tame the Pixel Plus that everyone (used to) rave about!

Does the way that I've connected the DVD player and Nokia 211T to the TV make any difference to the image quality. Which lead should go into which scart connector?

Could you recommend any settings within the TV for me to try for a better picture?

Thanks in advance.

Connect the socket marked TV on the Freeview box using a fully wired scart lead to the EXT1 scart on the TV which is RGB enabled...if you have a choice (in the setup menu of the Nokia) select RGB as the video output.
You don't mention make/model of DVD player but if it can output S-Video select that as its video output and connect it to the EXT2 scart on the TV which can input S-Video or Composite video (which is poor).
Turn off all picture processing/active picture in the TV setup menu for best results.
Bear in mind the pixellation you see may just be poor quality transmissions.

Thanks, I'll try that. I did see some other posts where people posted up their settings for PixelPlus, but they weren't using the same model number as me, so I thought I better check to see if anyone had got better settings using my model.
