Scart Lock On

I apologise in advance if this problem has been dealt with somewhere before, but I did a search and couldn't find anything.

I have a Sharp CRT approx 3-4 years old. In the tuning menu there is an option under SCART for "Lock on". I accidentally selected this and now cannot get the "lock off" as if you go into the menu as before and select tuning you are presented with a large key diagram on the screen.

I assume that this SCART lock is to allow SCART input only - I have a Sky box attached but I also look at teletext on the terrestrial stations so need to switch between the two (which was fine before via AV toggle). If I switch off the Sky box and the TV and then switch the TV back on I can access the terrestrial text as then there is no SCART input, but I can no longer tune in channels at all.

Does anyone know how to remove this lock?

Re: Scart Lock On

Just a guess, because I'm not familiar with this model, but is there a "Factory Reset" somewhere in the menu which should get you back to square one?

Of course, you'll probably have to retune, etc.

Also, some TV's have a "Hotel Mode" (to stop guests fiddling! ).

Have you accidentally entered that?

Good luck.

Re: Scart Lock On

Thanks, I will see if I can find it - retuning is not a problem as there are only 4 available terrestrial channels (Ireland), so it wouldn't take long! I think it is a parental control option (it isn't labelled as that) which is probably something similar to "hotel mode" but there was no PIN associated with it and I can't find my manual!
