| 32" with 3 Scarts...
Hi,
Sorry if this is the wrong forum (if so, could admin move to correct forum).
I bought at Sony 32FQ75 4 years ago. Being 'prudent', I took out a 5 year warranty with the now defunct Powerhouse. The warranty provider is Serviceplus, who I am now in dispute with.
The 32FQ75 has ceased to work and it has been deemed uneconomical to repair. Under the warranty, Serviceplan are obliged to offer a replacement TV of a similar spec. They have offered me the 32" Samsung HD CRT.
I do not consider the Samsung 32" HD to be of a similar spec. It only has 2 SCARTS, while my Sony TV has 3 Scarts. I have 3 sources, so this is vital. Furthermore, the Sony tube is far superior to the Samsung tube.
Serviceplan are also demanding I contribute 40% of the cost of the Samsung TV to take account of the sony TV's 'wear and tear'. I have read the contract and its deliberatly ambiguous on this point. I interpreted this section as wear and tear would come off the price of the old TV. My sony TV cost me £900. Applying the discount, I would say the Sony TV would now be valued circa £500. Im actually disgusted that they want to (i) replace my Sony with an inferior Samsung that costs half the price; and (ii) demand I pay £200 towards the price of the Samsung.
I have written to them and are not budging on their offer. Its nonsense.
Does anyone know where I can get a high sepc 32" CRT in similar spec to the Sony 32FQ75?
Anyone got any advice re Serviceplus?
Thanks,
litkid
