Hello and welcome to the Forum.
There should be no problem with the guarantee.
You've reported the fault within the 12 months and so they can't just wait for the warranty to run out and then hand it back to you.
The problem is a poor connection, probably a dry solder joint.
These can be the devil to find, but an experienced engineer should have a good idea where to look.
