philips 28pw6515 av problem

Help guys...

I have a wee prob with a V nice TV I was so kindly given and would dearly love to get it fixed...

It has developed a fault where it is changing to the Av extension on its own... (very twilight zoneish..o0ooooo scary)

A little research has thrown up the problem and its the main Painter chip (or summat) for which it seemingly has to go back to Phillips for repair..at a huge cost... and given the age of telly not really a solution..

Is there ANY of you experienced chaps out there that can possibly help a damsell in distress...

Hi

If you search these forums you will find your answer.
Not a cheap repair, but it can be done via post if you are a handy DIYer.
Can damsells do DIY?

thanks I finally found the thread you were on about.. i did originally search.. but came up with nothing..

but sorted now..

is Grumpy still and active member here.. or does anyone have contact with him still.. ? I wouldnt mind a quick word see if he can still do these repairs before I start ripping telly to bits...

And yes Damsells can do DIY.. we need screwdrivers to thump our male friends round the head with when they make presumptious comments..

hehehehehheheheehheehehehhehehehe

TIA
