2xRGB scarts standard nowadays?

Just wondering do most tellys nowadays have 2xrgb scarts? My current knacked Phillips 32" widescreen has only 1xrgb and 1xstandard, which means i get a poor picture from the dvd player.

Also I have to switch off the telewest box attached to scart1(rgb) otherwise i get ghost images across the dvd player on scart2(not rgb), is this normal?

My TV only has one RGB as well but I bought a mad katz scart selector box and plugged it into the RGB, then plugged my 360, DVD, PS2 etc into the selector. You get a pretty sharp picture from all of them now!

I doubt a 2-scart TV will have 2 RGBs. If the telewest box does RGB pass-through you may be able to chain them and get RGB on the DVD too.

Try swapping cables to see. Also, does the telewest box have an RF modulator? The interference may be coming from there. Try removing the scart cable to see if it solves the problem.

Most Philips sets manufactured over the past few years accept RGB on EXT1 and Composite or S-Video (Y/C) on EXT2...so if your DVD player outputs S-Video use that for an improved picture.

@bigkingy got one of those for the spare room, cheap tv's only got one scart. Would work in this case as well i guess, but is seems a bit of a shame having to press button manualy to get channels in todays day and age - call me a lazy bugger

Yes it does but it's also connected to the dvd recorder unfortunately - too many devices

I assume the Toshiba sd360e has got a s-video output, I assume I would need to connect the audio seperately on EXT3 in my case.

No, why? Scart-to-scart, with the Toshiba video output set to S-Video. What am I missing?
