Hitachi screen problem????

I have a hitachi 25in crt television and it has displayed a set of numbers
right across the middle of the screen like so

C2546TN 311

i know this is the model number of the tv but i have tried everything to get rid
of this but to no avail any ideas anyone???

Press the two video record buttons together then press standby.

This should sort the problem.

You can't.
You need either the original or a "Pattern" remote.
