Going to order a Tv next week, but need to decide between these 2

Ok after all the research and hours of forum reading, the moment of ordering my new Tv is coming closer. I'm ordering it next week. But, I still don't know which one:

a) Samsung WS32Z409TQX
b) Philips 32PW9551

What I'll be using it for:

- 70% Gaming on the Xbox 360
- 15% DVD watching, later Blue-ray/HD DVD
- 15% Normal Cable Tv watching.

Why one of those Tv's:

- I'm a student and don't have the money for a decent LCD
- CRT > LCD in terms of picture quality, response time, etc.
- They are the only 2 CRT's here in Europe capable of HD.

=> Special fact about the Philips:
The Tv normally only displays 576p, but the pixelplus makes it look like 883p. Not the pics further down and I think it looks better than the Samsung.

Pros and cons:

a) Samsung WS32Z409TQX
Pros: - Capable of truly displaying HD
- Nice Design
- It is not so deep because it's Slimfit, although I'd never buy the Tv just for that

Cons: - It seems like you have a 50/50 chance to either get a near perfect Tv, or one with horrible geometry issues.
- About 100€ more expensive than the Philips.

b) Philips 32PW9551
Pros: - No Geometry problems
- Very nice picture quality
- Cheaper than the Samsung

Cons: - Not a true HD Ready screen, although it's hard to spot a difference.
- Not exactly the most beautiful design, but I can live with it.

b) Philips 32PW9551
Xbox 360 Dashboard Pic
Movie Pic I think
German Forum page with lots of pics (scroll down, more pics there)
So it's gonna be one of those.. But atm it's 50/50 on which one it's gonna be. I hope you guys can help me make my choice.
Thanks!

(Thanks for the pics which I've found here on this forum, and on tweakers.net.)

I've ordered the Samsung but I'm going to cancel the order tomorrow.
I've heard too many bad reports to go ahead with it.
If I could get the Philips, I would but it's not available yet. Is it?

The Philips is available in Spain, Germany, France and the BeNeLux I think. I live in Belgium so for me it is no problem to get one.

got philips

hi,
i'm from turkey, last weekend i got philips from carrefour about 860 euro with 18 months instalments. (samsung was about 1070 euro), so the price was main reason for me to choose philips. and bad geometry performance of samsung was the second...

i tried dvd (without progressive) and satellite (digiturk) via scart1, of course did not differ so much compared to my old 21" grundig crt. i haven't tried hdmi and component yet.
but in future i think it will pay when i get new dvd player and satellite with component (or hdmi)
outputs.
since my dvd and amp is also philips, its quite nice to control all with only one remote

I've got my HTPC connect to the Samsung WS32Z419D using a DVI to HDMI cable. The TV is recognised as a plug 'n' play device with TV resolutions (1280x720 and 1920x1080). The output looks really good. Just a few issues with overscan.
