Toshiba 32Z17B

Got a Tosh with a snag.

Power on set, picture comes up ok, background purple/brown 'ish hue.
White flyback lines seen across screen.
As time passes, colours start flickering / dancing around !

Tube / CRT gone ?

Very likely, especially if a Philips crt is fitted.
If the crt is faulty and depending on the age of the set, Toshiba may supply a replacement at a knockdown price...but you would need to call in an engineer to confirm and pay for fitting of new crt.

Thanks JayCee

Seems a shame, good reliable set (4 yrs) till now.

Priced a new crt - not much change out of £385.00 plus fitting / test etc.

Looks like is destined to the great scrap heap in the sky!

Phone Toshiba Cust Services (I don't have the no to hand but can get if for you if needed)...Give them the model no and serial no (they can tell the age of the set from this) and complain that you thought a crt should last longer than 4 yrs...especially a set made by a reputable company like Toshiba
I guarantee they will supply one a lot cheaper than that.
