I was watching my Loewe Arcada 33" crt when there was the sound of a bulb blowing followed by no picture.I checked it was not the fuse, and that is fine.Is there a bulb and does it blow and is this a major problem.Any help would be appreciated.Thankyou.
Thanks for the reply.I had the transformer go about 4 months ago,and that had a different effect with a loud clicking when you turned it on(with no picture).Hopefully it is nothing too bad then.
No, nothing too serious. I'm concerned at the tranny going, and now this.
Do you have power supply problems where you live? Surges, voltage dips etc?
It takes some power to blow a tranny (sorry for any gay connotations!) so I'd be looking at your wiring, both in the plug and wall sockets, seeking poor, insecure terminal connections.
Everything is plugged into a Belkin surgemaster which i would hope would protect the system. There are no obvious problems with the connections;perhaps the amount of hours on the television,5500,has some relevance.Prior to the transformer going i have not had any fault with it, which is pretty good going i think.
