panny tx32pb50

After reading up on several TV's over the last few months I've bought the pb50 from empiredirect only to find that I have the common buzzing fault when displaying dark pictures. I'm gutted and will ring empire on monday

I need advice on this , should I except the offer of a engineer or insist on a complete swap out ?

Also does anybody know if this is a "known fault" ?

if yes do panasonic have a fix ?

I also have this set and have had several known problems ie moire patterning on PAL and NTSC and a hum both of which were rectified by an engineer, but since the hum was fixed I have been getting horizontal lines going up and down the screen and since last week when I turn the TV on or switch AV channels it is pot luck as to if I get any sound at all. The TV is going back to the engineers on Wednesday.

Its amazing how a good manufacturer like Panasonic can release such crap.

I know i,m a bit bitter but after having 3 32PG50,s and one engineer call out and then a 32PB50 and 7 engineer call outs and in the workshop twice you get like that.

As for your buzz other than the scan coils mine doesn't buzz.

Regards

Neil

Well Neil you have depressed me.

I’m starting to think I’ve made the wrong choice . Picture quality using a RF signal is crap and SKY digital produces jitters particularly during football matches.

On the other hand DVD playback is fantastic .

The buzzing that I’m getting does sound like yours ( ie from a scan coil) .

If you go to a teletext (full screen) do you hear the noise ?

on mine you do and on dark pictures/scenes mostly

Question Got a result yet?

Hi romored5,
Have you managed to get this problem sorted yet?

What kind of service did you get from Empire ?

Regards, Tel.
