Toshiba 32ZP48 Help Please

Hi Everyone,
I have just bought a new Toshiba 32ZP48.I set it up 2 days ago and am very pleased with the picture on my DVD player, but the picture through my Sky plus box is a bit grainy as if it is a poor signal.
I think I have everything set up ok,I have the sky set to rgb.Scart 1 to tv on sky plus box.The picture is ok for normal programmes but on watching the football on sky this afternoon it even looked grainy from 8 feet away.I have tried all the different setting, natural is the best the 100hz setting which is recomended for sport is slightly worse.
I have toned all the settings down as recomended on other threads, contrast 44, bright 53,colour 53,this improves the picture but watching sport is still not as good as my old 6 year old Toshiba.
I have a good scart cable fitted and have tried changing cables but the pq does not change.
I think the problem is the signal from sky.The signal quality indicator in services is ok,and I cannot work out why the picture up close was better on my old Tosh.
Any help would be very welcome

If you have'nt already done so..change the sharpness to -20.that helps alot and reduces the blocky effect.I have no 'grainy' pic, just some channels look a little blocky like ITV (crap)

Heres my settings for sky:

Colour: 38
Contrast: 49
Brightness: 62
sharpness: -20
Tint: 0
Colour Temp: Normal
Scan Mode: Progressive
Black Stretch: OFF

i know exactly what you mean, with regard to watching live sport.
I have the 36ZP48 and i noticed the grainy effect...but I recently upgraded from Sky Digital to Sky + and the PQ has improved ten fold, not sure whether it was the connection from the dish but the problem has completely gone away.

Thanks for replying,

I have Sky plus and the picture is still quite grainy close up,and even from normal viewing distance on some channels.

I have the settings about the same as suggested except mine are on normal mode as the others are even worse, is there anything I can do to improve this as I mainly watch sport and I think the picture was better on my old Telly
for sport.

Is there anything I can do to get a better reception from Sky and my pq would improve.

Thanks Again

As i said i'm not actually sure what prompted the improvement in PQ from the Sky + installation. One thing the engineer did do was put new connectors on the cable coming from the dish as he said they weren't done very well.

How old is your Sky + box?

My sky plus box is about 3 months old.The reception seemed ok with my old tv,but I wonder if it is because the new one is better quality the poorer reception shows up more,if that makes sense.

How high are your signal strength bars etc on your sky + box?

The signal strength is just past halfway and the quality is three quarters up.
