JV-32F703 TV Unknown problem

I'm having a problem with my TV which is about 4 years old.

I turned the power on using the remote and a few minutes later noticed that the remote didn't work. Tried my universal remote, nothing. Tried the front panel, nothing. Even the power wouldn't turn off. The only way I can turn the TV off is by unplugging it. NOTHING works, channels, volume, menu, nothing. If I unplug it and plug it back in later it turns right back on to the same channel.

It seems to me like there is a short somewhere in the wiring. Has anyone else heard of something like this, or have any ideas of what the problem is? I'm baffled....

Cheers.
