Removing OSD on Sony KV36-FS70

Does anyone know how to reduce the amount of time the onscreen display giving the channel number stays on the screen when changing channels on the Sony FS70?

On my model, it stays visible for 10 seconds and the font is so big that I find it very distracting. I've been through the various service menus but I can't find anything that seems to affect it. I'd be happy to disable it entirely in fact.

Also, does anyone have any tips for programming the Sony cursor keys into a Marantz 2000 learning remote? The repeat delay seems very sensitive on the TV so that each keypress is interpreted as two ups, two downs, or whatever when I issue commands from the Marantz -- rather irritating.

Thanks,

Eddy
