32ZP48 and connections/cables

I am pretty much new to TVs and connections and I need a little help getting the best out of my TV. I have a 32ZP48 and at the moment I have a VCR/Sky and DVD all connected via Scart. Everyone here mentions that you should connect the DVD to component/coaxial??? What does this mean?

My DVD player has all the following connections

Connections: RGB Scart; S-video output; composite video output; optical and electrical audio output; audio analogue output

What/Where should I buy to connect my DVD to my TV.

Thanks in advance

Gareth

With your dvd the best connection you can use is a scart cable. If you have the sound ruinning to an amp and not the TV then you could get a RGB only cable(no sound) and connect the sound up from the dvd to amp with a coaxial (electrical) digital cable.

You need a dvd player that can output component to the tv's component input for the best possible picture. Otherwise as has been said RGB scart and coax to an amp is your best option.
