phillips tv and sky

bought a phillips 28" tv at the weekend, as i wait to get my lcd but cannot turn it on or do the volume with my sky + remote but i cannot find the sky manual any help is gr8 ta

just noticed that the tv has a sort of crackling coming from the rear of the set can i return it as faulty (comet)
