In the market for new TV - Help

Hi, my first post as i am new the board

help me as i am a little out of date with the technology, my current TV is a sony 28" widescreen and is at least 6 years old. The sound is excellent ans picture still good for its age. Anyway, a new TV must prevail!

What i need to know is: what is the best TV which has Component Video in as i assume this is the best connection for DVD picture quality. I already have the TEAC Legacy 800 range, and this has composite out and component out.

Also what is HDTV? Is it worth it?

Do i need 100hz?

Does anyone have any views on the JVC HV28D40, it seams to have all the connections i need but doesn't mention 100hz!

I will also be connecting PS2, and Pace twin tuner/recorder freeview.

Any advice greatly appreciated.
