Thanks: Gave 0, Got 0 | Philips Pixel Plus 2 Geometry HELP!!!!
Hi
I will like some help on the New 29" Philips Pixel Plus 2 TV that I bought.
The problem is that the Picture is curved at the Bottom only, I have tried to fix it by going into the Service Menu but no luck. The Picture is bent like a bow towards the ground from the edges and it seems to be a bit inwards. The fault is especially more appreciate with scrolls that run at the bottom (Like some News Channels etc) anyone do let me know what to do, I got a 100Hz Philips Tele first got it replaced with another 100Hz Tele, both had the same problem then I got this Pixel Plus 2 tele, and it too has the same problem AHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!
The picture quality on this tele is top notch , but the Gemetry Problem is not cool. What to do, should I get rid of the Philips altogether ? but what to get that matches the same quality in 29" ?
Anyways the model number is Philips Pixel Plus 2 "29PT9421/56R".

Thanks for the reply. Hmm no no there are no speakers of Mine beneathe the TV but the Tele's own speaker (Built in) I thought you were asking about that speaker. I guess that could also cause the problem ? If not then what to do to fix this Geometry Problem ? I Have tried tinkering the Service Menu Options but it didnt help.

I have the same problem with my philips 32pw9509. I also noticed there is no speaker in the bottom, although it seems like there is one. | |

It's probably "within tolerance". Good geometry is actually quite hard to achieve on a large CRT. This is one respect in which the venerable CRT most emphatically does not product "the best" picture.
However, if it's new, you could always insist on an engineer's visit.

Thanks for the reply, yeah i have got the Service Center persinals to check it out and I am insisting on getting it fixed or replaced with another Philips TV of the same Model, but then I think if 3 TV's have the same problem why wouldnt the 4th be OK, though I saw another Tele at another store that was fine, so I was thinking about getting that one but then I think that there might be something else wrong with that TV and would know only when I buy it. Do you know how this problem can be solved ? I mean the tech side. It is annoying to say the least watching that bend, and well if you are concious then it does start to get on your nerves.
Thanks for the help.

All I can say is, it probably can be improved by service menu adjustments - factory settings are usually fairly rough - but it may well not be totally fixable. And it isn't really a job for someone untrained.
I sympathise; I can't tolerate poor geometry either. My own solution to this (and a couple of other typical issues with large CRTs) was to sell mine and buy an LCD screen.
