Connect PC to TOshiba 52HMV (Dlp)

hi all few questions:
1) Has anyone conected their toshiba 46' or 52' DLP to to a pc? the owner's manual says "Not to be connected to a personal computer". But i have heard rumors that people have had this working with no problems. the tv supports a native resolution of 1280x720. So i cant see why Toshiba didnt include a VGA connector or says we shouldnt connect to a PC.

2) I have an Ati Radeon 9500 pro graphics card. I have heard that ATI's VGA to HDTV dongle will only work with certian ATI cards, mainly the All In WOnders. Can anyone provide info on this?
