SONY KP44PX3 and previous noted faults

Hi

Does anyone know if Sony have came up with a satisfactory fix for the Streaking problems that we've mentioned previously on here.

I see Currys now have it for £999 so if they have fixed it I might try again.

Thanks

Hello !

To my knowledge they havent.I returned it and bought a thomson instead.
No streaking on the thomson. And im happy with it ( does a have problem which im waiting to get fixed)

So the thomson could be an alternative.
44WJ612S is the model number.

Ni Natal,

what about the yellow/brown stains on the Thomson? Has it been fixed already?

Cheers,

Sony does not think there is a problem.

OMG! I thought Sony was meant to be one of the better manufacturers of Audio/Video products. I brought from COMET a Sony KP44PX3. The picture is good but has this streaking problem. I confirmed the problem on 5 Sony KP44PX3 TV's. The 1st one I had, that got replaced with a 2nd and the one in the Northampton Store, another in Dixons MILTON KEYNES and another in COMET MILTON KEYNES and they all had this problem.

Spoken to Sony Customer Service who is as much help as cafe on the moon and they deny any problems with this TV. I told them to come and take a look as the TV is only 2 weeks old but they would not unless i paid them to. HOW BAD IS THAT.

Only 2 weeks old, the next day the TV went bang and just now has a green screen with dark lines across it. its dead. its going back and I think Sony are crap and im not going to bother no more. New Panasonic 36" TV on its way

Cliff

ps dont hold any hope you Sony KP44PX3 owners

Every KP-44PX3 has it. You can read it in this review (PDF-Link):

http://www.homecinemachoice.com/cgi-...?reviewid=4824

The last lines say about it:

"Only two problems conspire with
the general brightness shortage to
stop the 44PX3U walking away with a
Best Buy commendation. One is the
tendency – especially with analogue
tuner pictures – for bright points on
the picture to send faint but noticeable
streaky echoes across the screen.
The other is the frequently visible
presence of blanking lines in the picture,
making us wish Sony had incorporated
an internal progressive display mode
of some kind."

Apart from that, they give the PX3 an excellent review! But I really can't understand, why EVERY Sony-Guy says: "We never heard of this problem". I mean, they can READ about it everywhere :-)

And here's another review, where they mention the streaky echoes. Quote:

"The other nark concerns the
way really bright sections in a picture, such
as street lights against a night sky, can send
out streaky echoes across the screen."
