John Lewis delivery question

Can anyone confirm who does John Lewis's tv deliveries. I have just ordered a 24" which will need to be taken up two flights of stairs, probably a 2 man job. I have a bad back so wouldn't be any use.

Cheers

Damo

In my case (Bluewater to Sussex coast) it was John Lewis's own van, not a carrier service.

There were 2 delivery men, but it was a 36" TV weighing over 80Kg.

Might be an idea to warn JL of the possible problem.

(Incidentally, my delivery was within 1 minute of the promised time!)

Mine was a JL van too. I'd check if they will deliver up two flights of stairs, they struggled with mine on the flat

Are you in a flat up the stairs or is it just a room in a house you want the telly in? This might make a difference.

If not then I think they offer a service where they set the tv up for you for £30 (I think). If they do this then they have to lug it up the stairs. Otherwise, how are you going to get the tv on the stand. The 36" I got is was *VERY* heavy, dunno about 24".

Just been delivered by Citylink, driver took it up stairs no problem. Just have to find something to put it on now as there is no stand for the 24". Probably get a computer desk as ideally want it on castors.

Damo121,

Glad you're another happy John Lewis customer.

Nivelo,

Very valid point about getting a 36" TV on to its stand.

Fortunately, I live next to an amateur weightlifter.

(Yes, really! )
