Very low budget widescreen help

Just quickie. I want to upgrade to a widescreen for xmas and am on very low Budget, My Local coop store has the Beko 28" widescreen down to £179, is it worth buying, i dont want to use it for anything apart from Normal tv programs and putting my boys ps2 through it.
Thanks.
