toshiba 36 surround sound

hi there.

had my zp36 for two weeks, and gotta say im well impressed.
my question is is it possible to replace the surround speakers,with a set of rear wireless ones(such as the pioneer 3 spots or sony's)

the reason is i dont want wires running all over the place.
also i dont want an amplifier(the internal one is ok for me)or dvd all in one (got a pioneer dvd) just the speakers.

im a novice to this so please dont take da ****!!!!!!

I am no expert but presumably the 'wireless' speakers will still require mains power ? will you not be swapping one set of leads for another ? regards, yt

I noticed some wireless speakers in B&Q warehouse the other day, don't know what the quality would be like but should work OK. As Red says, you're going to need to power them so they'll need to be placed near to a power supply.

Incidentally, consider buying a cheap Subwoofer, it makes a huge difference to the sound.

Why dont you run the wires round the side of the walls / carpet - you can always get longer lenghs fairly cheaply if required ? - I have that TV and have to say the standard sound is ok for general viewings. Im not aware that you would be able to connect the speakers any other way.

I used to use my 36zp18 as my main TV, that had a sub built in that was OK but connecting up a £60 Eltax sub made a huge difference.

The transmitters for the wireless speakers I saw connected in to the TV/Stereo using standard speaker cable, they were advertised (amongst other things) as an alternative to your stereo speakers so that you could take them out into the garden etc

I think we are side tracking from the original Thread ! - afterall he was enquiring about rear speakers and wiring etc!

A word of warning.. I want to do this too - but have found that the output from the surrounds is very low (see earlier post by me). if i use good cables it is ok but my amp needs to be turned up very high. A normal wirless sender just has too much interference.

what i may get is the poineer 3 spot speakers(i dont know if its possible to get just the speakers) if so is it possible to connect these speakers to the tvs speaker outputs
in order to get dolby pro logic from tv broadcastes?
