Am I being skanked?

My Insurance company have got to replace my ancient tosh2539DB (very long story)
Anyway I have been offered a Panny tx28ps5 as replacement as they have told me Tosh no longer do ProLogic.
However Tosh tell me that the PF2 would be the replacement now as this is the way their products are marketed.
Can anybody tell me If i'm being ripped off
as there is a difference of about £500.
I know how much prices have changed in 10 years
but just don't want to loose out.

Get Toshiba to put it in writing to you, then send a copy to your insurers - nothing like the manufacturer's say-so to stop you being shafted...

I don't think Toshiba/Panasonic are in a position to say which of their models would be equivelent to the old Toshiba model?

It's up to you to convince the insurance company, by quoting features or spec.

?? ? I'd have thought Toshiba would be the perfect company to say which model in their current line-up is the equivalent to one of their older models - they're the ones who make them...
