Help; TV just gone bang

Phillips 6322 widescreen - watching it - then it went pop (bit like when there's a power cut) - then the stanby light was just pulsing like the TV was trying to switch itself back on but the screen remained blank.

Then a horrible TCP like smell coming from the back of it.

Obviously I'll have to get a repair man to have a look at it but does anyone have any idea what this is likely to be?
