Bush RF6683VPL CRT TV-11AK49-7, shut down.

Hi all, The set shuts down instantly but does generate EHT.All the secondary supplies try to get to normal and I have checked for caps and djs.I suspect the LOPT but don`t want to spend to much on a crt set.Has anyone had a similar fault? Also where could I get a LOPT if needed?(I retired 15yrs ago and all my accounts are dead)
Thanks in advance Ray.

Re: Bush RF6683VPL CRT TV-11AK49-7, shut down.

You can still get spares without an account from CpcFarnell,ChasHyde,SemeNedis.
You could try checking c609 47nf it goes o/c.IC802 in the s/by cct goes s/c.
A common fault on that chassis is D817 UF5407 goes leaky or s/c. D808 is a suspect as well.

Re: Bush RF6683VPL CRT TV-11AK49-7, shut down.

Hi Mechanic. Thanks for your prompt reply,I went out to the workshop last night to check your possible faults etc.No luck I`m afraid it is looking like LOPT failure, and here is the sting, it`s my no.2 Grandson`s(8 yrs old) set and of course I am paying for the repair. He is hoping for a write-off and a new lcd.If I didn`t know better I would suspect he has sabotaged the set on purpose!.Anyway I have a quote for the LOPT and if it was a paying customer the overall cost would bring a fairly curt reply `ditch it`I am somewhat surprised at the quality of manufacture of the set ok it`s a Bush(a well known brand in it`s day ) but the spec ,connections and,in particular the speakers(I will be fitting them to my 42"Philips )etc are what I would expect from the sony /pan/tosh brands. certainly not rubbish. But when it comes down to the nitty gritty it is too heavy too bulky and too dated to be of any value today.More land fill then.
Cheers Ray.

If you have a local electrical waste recycling facility near you, it will be better to dispose of the set there At least then it can be turned into knives, forks, and plastic cups!
