VGA to SCART - multiple distorted BW screens problem

Hi,

I have just bought a VGA to SCART cable and connected my laptop (HP Compaq 6735s) to my TV (a Philips 20PF5320/01 and a 7/8 year old Sony CRT).

The problem I get is that, when attempted on both TVs, I get a TV screen with 3 copies of the laptop screen arranged in the horizontal direction with a lot of distortion and black-white colour.

Any suggestions as to what I should try in order to fix it, so that I get a single, clean copy of the computer screen.

You cannot connect a VGA output to a scart input with a simple lead...you need a VGA Converter box...just Google it.
