Huzzah! Congrats.

I'd be very interested to hear how you get on with it, but for now I'm curious to hear where you bought it from, perhaps even how much...

Thumbs up

Hi,

Sorry for the delay, I have been glued to my tv since its arrival!

Well, this TV is great, I am very happy with it.

The external AV setup is very straightforward using the Wizard integrated in the menu.
The picture is superb, very clean and sharp!
The sound is good, although I was expecting more from Virtual Dolby... But, then again, its Virtual, right?

The only issue I have found so far is what it apears to be a slight distortion, only noticeable when there are running subtitles in some channels like CNN or Bloomberg. The letters seam to inflate and deflate while they travel from right to left. This is however, almost unoticeable. The other issue is that I had to tilt the picture using the TV menus to make it look straight.

I also have a personal problem with my remote... its ugly! for a black TV I was expecting a better looking remote, but hey - it works, so its not a big deal

About price and location, the TV was bought in Portugal for about 2200 euros, including taxes and all the discounts I was able to get.

Post any questions if you like; I'll be back to answer them ASAP.

Cheers!

as happy as i can be for you that you bought a loewe acconda,i'm very puzzled!
the new acconda is just a couple of weeks away, with a better tube, new chassis and hd recorder to boot.
all at no extra.
so why aren't you people waiting!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi

I think theres a number of reasons people aren't waiting. Loewe UK seem to have no idea of what the spec of the new TVs will be or when they will be available or how much they will cost (you see a trend developing!). Additionally, the main additional feature will be the HD recorder and many people have Sky+ already...

About the upcoming TV

Hi!

I have researched as much as I could about this "new" TV set, but the only piece of valuable info I got from the seller was a couple of papers stating that the tube is mostly the same, not HDTV, and the only difference is the built in harddisk recorder.
In fact, this TV was already available for purchase, but more expensive (about +500 to 600 eur).
So, for the "almost the same" tube and a HDD recorder that I don't need, +500eur seemed too much.

And was really needing a new TV for X-mas :-)

About the stand, I didn't bought it - I don't need one, and the place to put the TV didn't had the room for it.

Given that the Nemos, which I'm sure was supposed to be out end of October/start of November hasn't made an appearance yet, I assume that we in the UK are getting stuffed and having to wait.

Add to this the fact that I've yet to see any concrete information that the new Aconda's will be HDTV compatible (from what I've read it sounds more like the new sets will have an artificial detail enhancer like Pixel Plus, Acuity etc).

Personally I'm looking elsewhere for a set now... I've been waiting and checking out reports on specs and performance on other sets and put up with a small screen too long.
