Refocus/calibrate Sony D50HT

Hi all,

I had SKY HD installed and in trying to get it to work on my Sony VPH-D50HTM, I have managed to screw up the settings. I am tackling the problem in two ways. I placed a thread in the custom install section for professional help and hopefully I will get some response at a reasonable rate.

I have also had a go at setting it up myself and although I have managed to go through the set-up screens OK (apart from the bit where the manual says you should select the "int osc pattern" to a certain value via the "service setting" menu). Even though I am in service mode, this option is not selectable. I carried on settting up the projector without doing this as stated and when I got to the end saved the data, the projector displayed "saving complete", whereas the manual says I should have had a pop up with a yes/no option to use the saved data for all inputs. According to the manual, the data should have been saved in the memory as data for the frequency selected in the int.osc pattern selected in the service setting menu. So it seems, all that work to adjust the data was wasted as the picture looks as unfocused as before I started.

I know this is a specialist and complex area, but any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

George

I'm not familiar with the Sony, but as a rule you set up using a genlocked or externally fed convergence pattern at the required res and scan rates. Usually this is then automatically saved for those on prompt/exit.

Thanks Barcoing mad - I assume you like Barco hence the name?

I paid a visit to the Barco factory in Belgium a couple of years back as part of work thing (a jolly) and I was very impressed. The had a number of demo theaters with a huge almost commercial cinema size with the most incredible picture quality you can imagine.

Envious.

I use a Marquee these days, but can't change the name!
