I don't understand what went wrong. Is my carpet supposed to catch fire? I know I wanted a hotter home, but not to the extent of burning the house down. And the insurance company won't give me a sausage for it - they called it "fraud" . I don't understand what happened. It was all going so well until I passed out from the smoke.

Splitting? That can't be a good sign. Did you fit a return pipe?

I heard that you desperately needed some help with this thing once again!
As I understand it now, you finally got it working again, but being as old and outdated as your CPU was, you followed the advice of another forum member once again, and soldered a second CPU to your original CPU, to double your processing power. But surprisingly, when you turned it on, it made a strange hissing noise, and never even made it to the POST. Is that correct, Comer?
I wish that I could help you with it, but unfortunately, I'm still studying to be a PC technician at this time, and we haven't covered that issue in class yet. However, I did ask all the members of my fora to register here, and tell you what to do about it, if they have any ideas what you did wrong this time. So hopefully, there will be a few of them arriving here very shortly, to assist you.
Greetings from the USA, and thanks for such an entertaining thread here!

I'm going to read this whole thread when I stop crying.
I assume this was a windup (like I say, haven't been able to read the whole thread yet).
If, by some cruel joke by god, you actuall filled an electronic PC with water - and brought people in to see the effect before trying it yourself (having built several PCs [you, not me] you must know to try things before attempting to show the results off) - my advice would be to sell this story to the Sun.
But it would take a lot for me to believe this really happened.
Love 2theshack's central heating comment.

Has to be a windup as I can't believe anyone would do something like this without actually finding out specifics.
I've heard that drilling a hole in your head can help with headaches but I'm not going to get my Black 'n Decker and play Bob the Builder on my noggin when I next have a hangover!
For how to do it properly: http://www.water-cooling.com/gallery2.php
If this is for real - I suppose it's good that it didn't go wrong and end up being a Darwin award!

A reality check, Comer is alive and well and living in the land of the little green people! Anyone still taken in by this clearly needs the black and decker treatment, Comer did own up to the wind up about 2 years ago! I think he may be watercooling his projectors though, he seems to get through them like most of us get through bog paper.

Hey, don't draw attention to it. I'm not proud that I burnt my house down. I had some nice stuff in there, like a brand new 80286 box, complete with CP/M and, a massive 10MB harddisk and an Audigy 4 Pro that I almost broke when I installed it. I had to get out a hacksaw to get it to fit in the little slot.
BTW, any ideas why I never got that Audigy to work? Creative supply DOS drivers for it, so I thought I could get it to work with CP/M. Do I need to install DOS next time?

Hi Comer,
Glad I could help! Just wondered how it turned out at PC World? Did they confirm that you qualify as an ID 10 T? I have no doubt that they would be the best people to assess your illigibility. I have listened to conversations between some of their staff and have spoken to some of them and I am sure that some of them qualify so they should have a level of empathy.

It was amazing, when I told them my story they offered me a job on the spot. They told me I was the greatest f ID 10 T they had ever come across and that I would make a perfect senior manager. I was really quite chuffed as they also said that with my abilities I would very quickly rise up through the ranks.
Thanks once again imoyes

Why am I suddenly reminded of the head of British Rail?
I don't think it's fair that Comer should have a job at PC World. I mean, I burnt down my house, and about half the neighbourhood as a consequence, purely by accident when I installed my central heating. I am a greater ID 10T than Comer, according to all my friends, family and passers-by. I get a lot of mail that says "You ID 10T!"
