There's a thought. Anyone tried watercooling with pure gold? If so, how did they keep it liquid? I must go try this ... thank you marky_h for the inspiration!

Water cooling - cooling with water.
Central heating - heating from the center.
Is it Comer's fault for thinking "water cooling" just meant filling his pc with water, or my fault for thinking "central heating" meant lighting a fire that accidentally burnt down the neighbourhood? NO! I don't think it was. Now go away and leave us to think about where we went wrong.

Dear Comer.

I can't believe this thread is real.

Your best bet for survival is to you pack up your computer and give it to a charity as soon as possible.

[Edited for obvious reasons. Apollo 12002, please, no more posts like this. Kramer]

Comer,

Its obvious that water is conductive. Wet water is anyway !

What u should have done is melted down some DRY ICE and used that DRY WATER then u wouldnt have had any problem.

PS: Its colder than wet water too, so you dont actually need the flow through method.

This is the problem with these forums everyone has an idea but not everyone is right....its really hard to pick them apart. Especially for a newbie!

From a chemical point of view, it's not obvious at all that water is conductive. In fact, pure H2O is not conductive. It's the impurities in the water that make it conductive.

1) Keyword here is "actually"
2) Cling wrap is your friend

I suggest you both keep reading

First Post

Good Morning Everyone!

Just thought I would make my grand entrance and post here first.

I just read every single post here and re-read Comer's initial post but still can't believe that he did such a thing to his computer . Granted, it was a terrible mistake (if he isn't yanking everyone's chain) that never should have happened if proper in-depth research had been carried out.

I do believe that his system is completely borked which he will need to replace.

You read every single post and you're still not entirely convinced that Comer is a complete moron for ruining a top-of-the-line machine by filling it with water? That must make me a genius for burning down my neighbourhood cos I misinterpreted what "central heating" was all about.

ok got to like page 3 before i had enough, i am sorry you blew your PC up, but i am gob smacked that A someone actually told you that form of water cooling was safe! and that you just did it without looking into it better OMG and for your mistake i am linkin this thread to all the other forums i frequent as tyhe biggest *** moment of the month!

You can water cool like that but water must be completely free of impurities and must be completely hermedically sealed with an in and out loet pipe, but i think you'd have to be a tad insane to want to fill your case with water !

Normal watercooling with pipes n all that is WaterCooling and its still an extreme cooling and still shouldnt be done by anyone unsure and there are many rules of thumb to follow.

And a system like that i could have made virtually silent very easily on AIR!

If this wasnt a joke a thread then really you need never to touch the inside of a PC again.

I feel bad for you as you seem completely broke and if this was real then after the initial "you wolly" i'd have to say you poor poor man if i new you i'd chuck you an old mobo and a spare xp2400.

Theres only 1 thing you can do let it all dry out completely and hope!

but Damn dude You filled your entire case with water ? DAMN!

I was just trying to be polite about it!

You on the other hand, all I have to say is, 'Play with fire, expect to get burned!'
