Dayz and Arma II

Hi guys just a quick one. I understand I need Arma II and the add-on pack in order to download the Dayz mod. But do I need to download the Arma II and the add-on from Steam or will it work if I buy the hard copy on pc DVD from Game or Play etc etc

You'd have probably got a quick reply from the DAYZ thread:
DayZ (ARMA 2 mod)

I'm not familiar with DAYZ but for mods generally it's the normal versions that work fine and the steam version which can occasionally be problematic (breaking on updates etc.) so you shouldn't have any problems with the standard version - either from disc or from most digital distribution sites.
