problems with start up

problems with start up

on starting up my sons comp after several seconds it tells me windows ha notstarted succesfully and presents me wit options. start windows normally, last good configuration,safe mode etc, no matter what i choose to do it brings me to the same options page again. any ideas. cheers

Hi

Sounds like its missing a system file needed to boot up the computer, you'll probably need to get hold of either a recovery disk that came with your computer or a copy of Windows on disk in order to recover

How did you end Windows? Was the PC switched off at the mains or closed normally?

This message is normally when a windows session has been ended by a method other than the normal "Shut Down" method (for example, turning the power off).

If this is not the case then leeboy1411 suggestion about putting in the windows disk and running the fix option should fix the problem.
