Help! Blocked by Hotmail / Live Mail

A few weeks ago I started getting emails sent to Hotmail accounts returned undelivered, with the following message:
----- Forwarded Message ----

Subject: failure notice

Sorry, we were unable to deliver your message to the following address.

<abcxyz@hotmail.com>:
Remote host said: 550 Mail rejected by Windows Live Hotmail for policy reasons. A block has been placed against your IP address because we have received complaints concerning mail coming from that IP address.

It's strange, as it doesn't seem to happen all the time, or with every Hotmail account that I try to contact. I don't use Hotmail myself, I use Yahoo mail, via a Broadband connection. Now I'll confess, I do occasionally forward on to my mates some filthy photo's or File Attachments. This is with their full knowledge and encouragement, and with respect, I don't expect to be judged by anyone replying. It's not a crime. I can quite understand that someone - or more likely their other half - has got fed up with opening "Friday Filth" by mistake and has quietly set a block on all email from me. Fair enough - but why should this affect other unconnected Hotmail accounts (who all say they always welcome my communications)?

Microsoft's "Windows Live Mail" (the new name for Hotmail) doesn't really offer any solutions in their 'Help' section, and you seemingly can't specifically contact anyone from the site or Company to advise (although I have sent them a polite query in their 'Feedback' section).

I've suggested to some of my mates that they alter their Security Settings, thinking that maybe people will simply have to individually unblock my address on their Accounts. But this doesn't seem to be working.

Can anyone determine what has happened, and how I - or more accurately, my friends on Hotmail - can resume accepting mail from me again?

Check the public blacklists - your address may be there.
Why not just change to a new hotmail account ?
