Question Best FREE CD/DVD ripper burner program

Hi all,

Following on from my other post on this forum named nero 11 trial version ive been trying to make copies of my wifes fitness dvds for her to use so she can save the originals for best but i keep getting a message saying that the DVDS have been encrypted with a CCS/CPPM format and nero cant seem to get past this. Ive also tried Imgburn and DVD shrink 3.2 but they couldnt get past it either, I was wondering what the best FREE software is to use for this problem.
From reasearch ive done ive found the following
DVD Decryptor (which actually doesnt seem to be created anymore)
DVD2One
DVD smith (freeware)
Movie DVD copy
Any DVD
Clone DVD

Im not going to start using any software recomended to copy everything under the sun, any dvds copied will be for home use only.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated

Kind regards

while there may be programs that will do as you want I doubt they will be free, while we allow discussion of the programs actual discussion or how to's regarding the circumventing of copy protection is not allowed on the forum.

As i said in my original post named nero 11 trial version i didnt want to get into trouble or do anything illegal.

If the post is deleted then im fine with that and i understand why that would need to be done.

DVDShrink is great but is well out of date now and so wont work with all modern DVD's. I'm not aware of any other ripping programs that are free and will let you keep the disc menu etc.
MakeMKV is a very good free ripper, but it puts the rip into a .mkv container and you loose the menu. You may find another program to put it back onto a recordable DVD but you wont get the menu back.

Other than that you could look at buying the likes of AnyDVD or DVDFab that will alow the likes of Nero to copy the discs, but they are not cheap.

Mark.
