VGA is an analogue only connection - HDMI is a digital only connection.
So to connect the VGA output on your PC to the HDMI input on your TV would require some expensive equipment to convert the signals. I would expect it to be cheaper to just install a graphics card with a DVI or HDMI output - as DVI carries the same digital signal (as well as analogue VGA) as HDMI, so either will work you just need an HDMI to DVI adapter to use with your HDMI cable.
Your PC can take a PCI-E x16 graphics card with a low profile bracket, ie Sapphire 11166-01-20R HD 5450 512MB DDR3 PCIE HDMI Graphics Card: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories

Thanks for that Mark, would I be able to fit a graphics card from a HP slimline S3621uk as I have one from my last pc,it has a fan on it so there may not be a connection for that,I assume the black and white wire would be for the fan.

As long as the old card has a PCI-E interface then it will fit the new PC, just make sure you can get the right drivers for it as an old card may not have Win7 drivers.

Have you installed the correct drivers for the graphics card? Windows will do its best with some basic drivers, but it wont be able to run all the features without the drivers for the card being installed.

The black and white cable is that not a audio connection to the board due to not all pci-e graphics having the ability out of the box

And have you set your audio output to digital hdmi? On the computer

What audio settings are you looking at? There should be the option to set it to digital out

I think I have tried them all, control panel, speaker icon on task bar, navida control, updated all the drivers.
I appears the black and white wire from the card is for hdmi audio pickup.checked again it was in correctly,it doesnt make sense to me unless there is a switch somewhere to turn it on
By the way ,thant you very much for spending your time on me

No problem.

Thought it would be audio. And there should be a option in the sound control. It will be separate from the nvidia panel and should have the option to change between analogue and digital audio out etc. Or maybe in the sound options there is a drop down bar for the output.

Have you tried right clicking the speaker bottom right on your desktop and looking at the volume options then seeing if the hdmi shows there...?
