USB Wireless transmitter needed please!

Hi
I am after a USB wireless transmitter, but cannot find any. Hercules do one but I can never find it in stock anywhere in-store or on-line.

I know wifi will only be available when the PC is on, but this is fine. I spend a lot of time in hotels for work, where I can usually plug the laptop into the ethernet cable and work. I want a USB wireless transmitter so that I can use my Ipad / Iphone on the network as well.

Any ideas?
Thanks
Dak

What you want to buy I would call a travel router. You connect it to the Ethernet socket in the hotel room and it creates a local wireless network for your laptop/iphone and ipad to connect to.

ie:

- Palm-Size Portable Mini Travel 2 in 1 Wireless Router / Client Adapter - £25.98 delivered
- Solwise portable router with usb port for UMTS/3G access - £33.75

$lim$hady asked for something similar here, may be ask him how he is getting on with his purchase.

Hope this helps.

Okay, tried a couple of travel routers on business trips. It is not working out. The extra size and weight is a pain, and carrying yet another mains converter I hate (needed with some) but the main problem is simply a lack of mains sockets in hotel rooms near to the ethernet cable / laptop desk. Often lucky to plug the laptop in (usually by unplugging a lamp I really need to review papers whilst on the laptop). And yes, I was surprised too - this is business 5* travel so a real surprise that so few sockets.

Does anyone know of a USB transmitter ? Range doesnt have to be fantastic.
